The work of the Focus on Food Campaign and Cooking Bus visits always attract media attention.
Scotland on Sunday, August 2005 Scotland on Sunday devoted the front page and several pages inside to a feature about the work of Focus on Food and backing the need for funding for a dedicated Cooking Bus for Scotland.
“One of the campaign’s leading supporters is the food writer Mary Contini, a director of Ediburgh’s famous Italian deli Valvona & Crolla. ‘It is vital to the future well-being of our children that they learn to cook,’ she says.
“Is there any sense in telling children about protein, carbohydrates and fats if they have no idea how to cook a meal? This is the question that drives the Cooking Bus.”
